London 2012 – Part IV

I hope that you all enjoyed the events this weekend, definitely a lot going on! I will get you a medal count update as soon as I share some Monday morning comedy with you regarding the Olympics competition I have found myself a part of and Davids new obsession in the track and field competition. Lets start with the obsession in the real olympics.

This weekend David discovered what he now referes to as Many mini Mini’s (aka lots of miniature Mini Coopers) in the track and field competition. If you know anything about David, you are aware of his love for the Mini Cooper, and has bias feelings towards his own Mini cooper. Well, I believe he has finally found one that he loves more.

Yes, the Olympics are using these small remote control Minis to carry objects back and forth to track and field contestants with the disks in them. Needless to say, as I am watching astonished as athletes are sprinting around the track, David is excitedly trying to spot as many mini Minis as he possibly can any time they show an event in track and field. He so kindly sent me the above video while he was stalking these small carriers the other day so I could share it with all of you, just in case you missed it. He felt it was a pretty important part of the games.

Additionally, I have found myself a part of the QA Olympics at my work. QA is in charge of making sure we are practicing good ethics through our sales process, etc. Aka, they stress you out by reviewing your work and your sales calls, and scoring them, and scores less than 100% effect your commission rate. BUT, some of us are QA Olympians because we maintain a QA score of 100%. Following the rules has become my point of continued success in this job, other things…. not so much. Anywho, our QA experts so kindly created this fun bulletin board to congratulate all the people who scored 100 in QA all month in July and it looked a little something like this….
Cute, huh? Its all olympics themed and what not, some quality arts and crafts time, or was it? Let me share with you whats really happening here, nothing good, would be the correct answer, lets zoom in to take a closer look.

These jokers literally cut our faces out of our ID pictures and pasted them on top of pictures of Olympians winning gold medals. Not a joke, this is for real. When ever I saw I didnt just do a double take I literally stopped dead in my tracks and turned and around and walked BACK to the bulletin board for further inspection, and was rather disappointed in the largely sized heads on top of the small olympic bodies. I am just imagining the QA people laughing as they paste our faces on top of these pictures and hang them up in the office for everyone to…. admire (???) But seriously, this is a strange little place I work at. Let me give you the close up you have really been waiting for, my close up as an olympian….
Yep, definitely awkward. I am glad I could potentially provide you all with a good laugh this Monday morning. Now on to the real olympics, here is the medal count after this weekend.
